Southern California Crusin’ 2016
Well, we were able to get our Winter home all buttoned up in time to get on the road as planned the morning of the 18th. We had such a great time in Tucson with all our friends and relatives. We are already looking forward to getting back this coming winter. Bruce is going to really miss his Nana.
He loved going over to her house in the evenings to get so much attention..and snacks!
Well, our first day out we only went to Yuma Lakes RV park just to make sure all the bugs are worked out. That trip went well, so we only spent one evening there then headed over to San Diego and stayed just outside town at the Pio Pico Thousand trails RV park. It was a great location in the country but only 15 minutes away from the city. We were able to get some beach time as well as meet up with a couple old friends we haven’t seen for over 20 years.
Hopefully this new lifestyle will enable us to greatly reduce the time gap between visits with all our friends and relatives. I was also able to get back to a restaurant (El Indio) where I had been coming since I was in Kindergarten. This was the first time it wasn’t the taste I was remembering. I don’t know if they changed their recipe or have my taste buds changed. 🙁 After a week in San Diego we traveled to Rancho Oso TT RV resort in Santa Barbara for a couple days. What a beautiful area. The rolling hills and the beautiful coastlines.
After Santa Barbara we moved up California to Morgan Hill TT RV park to spend a week. We did a little site seeing and Wine tasting but our main reason to stop there was to spend some time with our daughter, Beverly.
She was in town with her boyfriend Gino so we were able to have dinner at his parents’ home. They are such a great family. So gracious and wonderful, they really raised a wonderful son!
This has been a great visit to the southern and Mid-California areas. Next month we are heading up the 101 into Oregon where we can reconnect with all our friends as well as get some yearly checkups out of the way. It is so nice getting back on the road again and looking forward to what’s around next the corner.
